Fairfax City and the surrounding 22030–22035 ZIPs are an interesting mix — historic city core around Old Town Fairfax with brick colonials and tight setbacks, then the larger 1960s and 1970s subdivisions like Mantua, Country Club View, Fair Oaks Estates with quarter-acre to half-acre lots. The Fairfax City core (22030) has its own permit office separate from the county, and a historic district that's smaller than Alexandria's but every bit as opinionated.
