Burke is mostly planned community — Burke Centre, Lake Braddock, Cherry Run — built in the 1970s and 1980s with consistent lot sizes, mature tree canopies, and HOAs that take exterior approvals seriously. What makes Burke unique for us is the woodland edge: most properties back to a wooded common area or stream valley, which means deer pressure, dappled shade, root-zone protection, and seasonal water flow are real design constraints. We do a lot of stone retaining walls along the Burke Lake Park edges and Lake Braddock, where the slope down to the water requires erosion-control engineering, not just stacked stone. The HOA reality means our team writes the architectural review packet for you: drawings, materials list, color samples, sun-angle study. Burke Centre Conservancy and most other Burke HOAs approve our packets without revision because we know what they want. Burke homeowners tend to be risk-averse, value research, and check references — we welcome that. The patios we built in Burke in 2007 are still the patios.
